Acts Of Faith

The 2027 SACReD Gathering: Acts of Faith will bring together those faithfully working for Reproductive Justice, leaders of all types: organizers, artists, clergy, students, healers, providers, and more.

Join us to build our skills and solidarity, committing Acts of Faith in a time of rising Fascism and Empire’s collapse.

Together we will:

Strengthen and amplify bold narratives to insist on Reproductive Justice as the moral imperative.

Develop our skills, tools, and resources for anti-fascist, anti-racist, faith-based organizing.

Deepen our trust and practices of solidarity.

You are one of millions of people across the globe who are taking action every day to shape a world where reproductive justice is our lived reality. We are filling Period and Food Pantries, supporting Mutual Aid and Abortion Funds, serving as clinic escorts, doulas, and nurses. We are organizing against ICE in our communities, delivering groceries and hot meals, protecting and supporting trans and queer youth around every corner. These are Acts of Faith.

We act because we believe that a different world is possible. Because we believe in bodily autonomy and that every person, every parent, every family should be able to be fed, supported, safe, and thriving. Some of us are called by justice and liberation, some of us are called by our communities and ancestors, some of us are called by imagination and possibility, some of us are called by Spirit and our religious tradition. All of us are called to shape a new world, our Acts of Faith unite us.

Together we will build our skills and solidarity, committing Acts of Faith in a time of rising Fascism and Empire’s collapse.

We are excited to announce that we are accepting proposals to present workshops at the 2027 SACReD Gathering! Join us in Cincinnati, OH, April 5-7, 2027, as we explore the theme: Acts of Faith.

DEADLINE: Workshop proposals are due October 15.

Presenters will be notified by mid-December if their proposal is accepted.

Presenters with an accepted proposal will get a discounted rate of $275.

We invite you to submit your proposal considering the following themes/tracks:

Narrative & Cultural Change: Building Bold Voices and Storytelling for Reproductive Justice as a Matter of Faith
Practices of Resistance: Lessons Learned by Those Leading Resistance Against White Christian Nationalism
Healing Practices: Rituals, Pastoral Care, & Chaplaincy
Power Building: Organizing Skills, Tools, and Practices for You, Your Congregation, and Your Community

Our First SACReD Gathering 2022

On January 25-26, 2022, SACReD launched by hosting the first-of-its-kind virtual gathering of justice-oriented people of faith, activists, academics, and leaders from the reproductive health, rights, and justice community. This was a truly historic convening, sponsored by an amazing coalition of organizations and individual donors.

Grounded in our shared values of justice, dignity, human rights, compassion, and expansive love, we discovered how faith and reproductive liberation are interdependent. Through 30 keynotes, panel discussions, breakout sessions, and multi-faith worship services, participants shared knowledge and wisdom, strengthened solidarity, and laid crucial groundwork for the next phase of a powerful movement. SACReD will continue to provide gatherings for movement self-awareness and capacity building for progressive people of faith and secular allies who support reproductive health, rights, and justice. We will host a national SACReD Gathering every other year. Check back for more information about the 2024 SACReD Gathering!
